Current PROJECTS
The following is a non-exhaustive list of existing projects interested in participating in CGSI.
ECOLOGY: Designing miniature autonomous disposable sensors disseminated in the wild and transmitting images only when they recognize something of interest.
MEDICAL: Designing affordable medical appliances, easily trainable by medical staff and capable of transmitting information autonomously when an abnormal event is detected.
DNA research: Developing systems to automatically read results from micro arrays used in DNA research and product development.
HUMAN COMPUTER INTERACTION (HCI): Designing affordable accessibility interfaces that enable individuals with disabilities to use devices such as computers, environmental controllers, communicators, wheelchairs, and so on.
Aquaculture: Designing systems to monitor and control parameters such as water quality, food delivery, and mortality in fish farming and algae production.
SECURITY: Designing intelligent threat detection systems for biohazards, explosives and suspicious behavior in many different public and work environments.
AUGMENTED REALITY: Designing intelligent envronments that provide individuals with information about real and virtual objects contained in the environment.
Robotics and automation: Desigining context aware systems that enhance the effectiveness and safety of robotic and automation machinery.
