The following is a non-exhaustive list of existing projects interested in participating in CGSI.

ECOLOGY: Designing miniature autonomous disposable sensors disseminated in the wild and transmitting images only when they recognize something of interest.

MEDICAL: Designing affordable medical appliances, easily trainable by medical staff and capable of transmitting information autonomously when an abnormal event is detected.

DNA research: Developing systems to automatically read results from micro arrays used in DNA research and product development.

HUMAN COMPUTER INTERACTION  (HCI): Designing affordable accessibility interfaces that enable individuals with disabilities to use devices such as computers, environmental controllers, communicators, wheelchairs, and so on.

Aquaculture: Designing systems to monitor and control parameters such as water quality, food delivery, and mortality in fish farming and algae production.

SECURITY: Designing intelligent threat detection systems for biohazards, explosives and suspicious behavior in many different public and work environments.

AUGMENTED REALITY: Designing intelligent envronments that provide individuals with information about real and virtual objects contained in the environment.

Robotics and automation: Desigining context aware systems that enhance the effectiveness and safety of robotic and automation machinery.
