Grant Opportunities

An important goal of CGSI is to increase resources for research and development projects by assisting researchers to submit winning grant proposals. Three programs are being implemented to achieve this goal.

1. RFP Watchlist: CGSI will monitor Requests for Proposals (RFPs) from federal agencies and industrial sources and provide a watch list of potentially relevant RFPs for member organizations on this web site. (Watchlist is under development)

2. Faculty Research: A major portion of the money received from affiliates will be used to provide seed funding for faculty who have identified one or more RFPs that could potentially fund their research. These are competitive grants intended to support the preparation of winning proposals. Faculty who have identified an RFP opportunity can apply for a seed grant of up to $10,000 to support them while they prepare a proposal. CGSI will also provide advice and coaching for proposal writers and pre-submission evaluation of proposals to increase the likelihood of success. (Watchlist is under development)

3. Student Projects: Students from any department can apply for grants of up to $2,000 to support short, course-related projects that incorporate some aspect of sensory intelligence. CGSI has two main reasons for supporting these student reseach projects. The first is to increase student awareness and understanding of sensory intelligence. The second is to give them experience with submitting proposals. To facilitate easy incorporation into courses, funding decisions for student projects will be made within two weeks of receipt of application. (Application form being developed)
