THE MISSION
CGSI will generate, gather and disseminate information about advances in theoretical and applied sensor and pattern recognition technologies; establish research funding opportunities; and build strong links between academia and industry to promote collaborative research, technology transfer and workforce development.
OBJECTIVES
The primary objective is to give all stakeholders a strong voice in defining and developing the new sensory intelligence discipline and industry. CGSI will:
- Coordinate multidisciplinary research between the U.H. system, collaborators in industry, and researchers at universities around the world.
- Develop training and technology seminars.
- Provide seed funding for faculty and student research projects.
- Publish regular newsletters.
- Run an annual conference covering research, development, industry updates, and products.
- Coordinate the publication of research results and achievements of CGSI members.
- Promote and suport workgroups and blogs.
- Support the establishment and endorsement of standards in terms of: knowledge data structures, knowledge building and validation.
- Build knowledge repository data bases for each type of application.
- Establish freeware and royalty based licensing programs.
